HIGHCAT began with curiosity and a deep belief in building technology the right way. Since 2012, our team has been designing and constructing unmanned systems from the ground up, ranging from multicopters to solar-powered aircraft and vessels, driven by hands-on engineering and full control over every critical component.
In 2018, our focus turned to large-scale drones with a clear purpose: solving real-world challenges. The first full-size prototype was built in a garage, aiming to automate demanding tasks such as highway bridge inspections through long endurance, high payload capacity, and simplified operations.
This work reached a new level in 2021, when a startup program at the Technical University of Munich led us to explore a fully autonomous, container-based drone system designed to replace selected police helicopter missions. While only the drone was realized at the time, the project introduced a system-level vision that would later shape our approach to deployable, scalable solutions.
In 2022, following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, we travelled to Kyiv to understand firsthand how our technology could help protect lives and critical infrastructure. What followed was a natural continuation of our journey. Scaling resilient, long-endurance drone systems built in Europe, free from restrictive dependencies and export constraints.
Today, HIGHCAT combines its engineering heritage with industrial discipline. We design, build and deploy unmanned systems that protect people and critical infrastructure — made in Germany, trusted across Europe.

HIGHCAT does NOT design, manufacture, or distribute kinetic or weaponized drone systems. Our technology is focused exclusively on reconnaissance, sensing, and logistics capabilities.
We independently evaluate potential customers and intended system use cases. We firmly reserve the right to decline engagements that do not align with our ethical standards.
All international deliveries strictly comply with European export control regulations and are subject to rigorous review by the German Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA).
We prioritise resilient supply chains, carefully selecting components and technologies that strengthen European technological sovereignty and operational independence. By minimising reliance on ITAR-restricted and other export-controlled technologies wherever feasible, we enhance flexibility, security and long-term supply chain resilience.
